Its three weeks till the walk and support is gaining momentum. The event of the year is about to happen and its called the Lavender walk. It is the event to be a part of so don't say we didn't tell you when the walk is over and you hear how epic it was. Like the explorers of long ago, grand events start with one seemingly crazy idea. They said Einstein was mad, Van Gogh was considered a lunatic yet the basis of the most complex mathematics and the reason why most people paint can be laid almost directly on the shoulders of these two 'crazies'. We have been called loopy and very ambitious for attempting this walk, people usually do a double take when we tell them about the lavender walk. "You're walking from where?? To where??", is usually the reaction we get. Then we get a long look as if the a checking if we are sound of mind. That is part of the fun, the shock factor when we get to tell people what we are doing. Then when you tell them you are doing it to raise funds for Cancer Association you get an, "oh!", as if that justifies the madness and all of a sudden its okay to walk from Francistown to Gaborone.
